2025 Bank of America 13.1 Half Marathon Unfolds in Garfield Park

On Sunday morning, Garfield Park transformed into a vibrant hub of athleticism as runners took to the streets for the Bank of America 13.1 Half Marathon.

The course meandered through Chicago's West Side, allowing participants to soak in the rich history of the area. Starting in Garfield Park, the route led through Douglass Park, continued up Jackson Boulevard, and concluded at Humboldt Park.

In a remarkable display of speed, Zouhair Talbi clinched victory in the men's division with an impressive time of 1:01:08, while Meseret Belete Tola dominated the women's division, finishing at 1:09:36. Both athletes surpassed last year's champions, Peter Njeru and Joyline Chemutai, who clocked in at 1:01:46 and 1:11:45, respectively.

In the men's wheelchair division, Daniel Romanchuk maintained his undefeated streak, completing the race in 43:43β€”just one second faster than his previous year’s record of 43:44. Aaron Pike followed closely behind, marking a strong performance.

Susannah Scaroni emerged victorious in the women's wheelchair category, finishing with a time of 48:50.

Ricky Gupta made headlines in the non-binary division, finishing at 1:28:22 and surpassing last year's record held by Caleb-Michael Files, who finished at 1:32:36.
