Alec Bohm Lands on 10-Day Injured List with Fractured Rib

Jul 19 2025

The Philadelphia Phillies announced Saturday that infielder Alec Bohm has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a fractured left rib. This decision comes just before their game against the Los Angeles Angels.

Bohm's injury traces back to July 12, when he exited a game against the San Diego Padres after being struck by a pitch in the ribcage. This incident forced him to miss the final game before the All-Star break.

Despite participating in Friday's loss to the Angels, subsequent imaging revealed the fracture, leading to his placement on the injured list. Otto Kemp will step in at third base for Saturday's matchup at Citizens Bank Park.

To fill Bohm's roster spot, the Phillies have called up Weston Wilson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Wilson, 30, has been performing well, boasting a .276 batting average with four doubles, three home runs, and 10 RBIs over 19 games since being optioned on June 18.

As for Bohm, the 28-year-old has had a solid season, recording a .278 batting average with 12 doubles, two triples, eight home runs, and 42 RBIs across 92 games. His contributions have been significant, including 22 walks and 39 runs scored.

The Phillies will look to adjust their lineup as they navigate Bohm's absence, hoping for a swift recovery for the infielder.
