Bijan Robinson Cautions Against Overhyping Arch Manning Ahead of College Football Season
Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson is optimistic about the upcoming season for his former team, the Texas Longhorns, but he urges caution regarding the hype surrounding quarterback Arch Manning.
In a recent conversation, Robinson, 23, emphasized that it’s “a little early” to set Heisman Trophy expectations for Manning, who is generating significant buzz ahead of his debut season. “We gotta see what he does on the field,” he remarked, discussing his collaboration with College Colors Day.
Robinson expressed confidence in Manning’s potential, noting the valuable experience he gains from working alongside Quinn Ewers and learning under head coach Steve Sarkisian. “I think he’s gonna do very well,” Robinson stated, highlighting the importance of focus and consistency. “If he takes care of things week-to-week, eliminates the outside noise and stays focused throughout the season, the sky’s the limit.”
Texas enters the college football season ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press preseason poll for the first time in its history, a significant milestone for a program that last claimed a national championship in 2005. Robinson acknowledged the pressure that comes with this ranking, stating that Texas must perform at its best every week.
Manning, who is related to NFL legends Peyton and Eli Manning, will lead Texas into a challenging season opener against No. 3 Ohio State, the defending national champions, on Saturday. Robinson predicted a close victory for his alma mater, forecasting a 24-18 win against the Buckeyes.

Having spent three seasons at the University of Texas from 2020 to 2022, Robinson earned the Doak Walker Award as the nation’s top running back in his final year. Since being drafted by Atlanta with the 8th overall pick in 2023, he continues to proudly represent Texas, donning its burnt orange colors whenever possible.
“With Texas, you don’t gotta worry about us bringing the energy,” Robinson asserted. “We do it every single Saturday. We’re just ready for anything, whatever anybody throws at us.”
Looking ahead, Robinson expressed excitement for the upcoming week and how the team will handle the challenges that lie ahead.
