Brittany Mahomes Celebrates Chiefs' AFC Championship Victory Amid Buffalo Rivalry
Brittany Mahomes erupted with joy as the Kansas City Chiefs triumphed over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game earlier this year, a match that was charged with tension and rivalry.
In the fifth episode of ESPN's docuseries The Kingdom, which debuted on August 20, viewers witness Brittany's unrestrained enthusiasm from her suite at Arrowhead Stadium. The game, filled with nail-biting moments, saw her cheering passionately as her husband, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, executed a remarkable rushing touchdown in the second quarter.
“Woooooo! Run it up, 15! Run it up on ’em!” Brittany shouted, her voice echoing through the stadium as she celebrated Patrick’s performance.
As the game progressed to a critical fourth down in the final quarter, with Bills quarterback Josh Allen being ruled short of the first down, Brittany's excitement reached new heights. She was seen banging on the glass of her suite, fully immersed in the action.
The Chiefs clinched a narrow victory with a final score of 32-29, securing their place in Super Bowl LIX. Following the game, Brittany joined Taylor Swift, who is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, on the field to celebrate. “You kept me so calm the last couple weeks,” Swift expressed to Brittany.
Accompanied by Kelce’s mother, Donna, the trio shared a moment of camaraderie as Swift praised Brittany for her support during the playoff frenzy. “I did not know what to do,” Swift confided to Donna. “I’d just text Brittany. I’d be like, ‘Tell me it’s going to be OK. Tell me it’s going to be OK.’”
Brittany reassured her, saying, “I always knew it was going to be OK.” Swift then requested to join Brittany and Donna for a group hug, exclaiming, “My two pillars of support.”

Shortly after the game concluded, Brittany took to social media to share her thoughts on the victory. She posted an image on her Instagram Story featuring a Kermit the Frog toy dressed in a No. 15 jersey hanging from a pole.
“Do we remember this Buffalo? Absolutely disgusting,” Brittany wrote, referencing an earlier encounter when the Bills had defeated the Chiefs in Buffalo. “So as you go home tonight, I pray we become better people.”
This post sparked speculation about its timing and context, hinting at the rivalry between the two teams. In another Instagram Story slide, Brittany addressed fans directly: “Thank you all for your concerns with 15 this season, see y’all in New Orleans 😊.”
Despite their earlier success, the Chiefs faced a setback in Super Bowl LIX, losing 40-22 to the Philadelphia Eagles at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. This defeat ended their pursuit of becoming the first team in NFL history to secure three consecutive Super Bowl victories.
The first two episodes of The Kingdom are currently available on ESPN+, with episodes three and four set to premiere on August 19 and episodes five and six following on August 20.
