Bryce Harper Celebrates NL East Title in Style

After clinching the NL East title, Bryce Harper of the Philadelphia Phillies celebrated with exuberance, marking the team's second consecutive division win.

The Phillies triumphed over the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-5 in a thrilling 10-inning game at Dodger Stadium on September 15. This victory secured their spot at the top of the division.

Back in the clubhouse, Harper wasted no time in joining his teammates for a raucous celebration, shedding his shirt as beer and champagne flowed freely.

Despite his well-known sobriety, Harper was spotted using a funnel to drink, later clarifying that his choice of beverage was apple juice. “Just in case my wife is watching,” he remarked, adding a humorous touch to the festivities.

Harper, married to Kayla since 2016, is a father of three: Krew, 6, Brooklyn, 4, and Kamryn, 1. The couple recently announced they are expecting their fourth child, a boy.

During the game, Harper made a significant impact by hitting a home run in the eighth inning, which initially gave the Phillies the lead. However, the Dodgers' Andy Pages responded with a home run in the ninth, pushing the game into extra innings.

While reveling in their victory for one night, Harper maintained focus on future challenges. “We’re playing really good baseball right now and just got to keep going and keep understanding we’ve got a bigger picture,” he said. “We’ve got things on our mind that we want to win.”

Not all teammates shared Harper's restraint during the celebration. Kyle Schwarber was heard exclaiming, “I’m hammered,” in a video that made its rounds on social media.

Before indulging in the festivities, Schwarber, who leads the National League with 53 home runs this season, praised the resilience of this year’s Phillies squad. “I feel like we’ve done such a great job this year,” he noted after the game. “We’ve had a lot of really big injuries happen to us and we just have that next-man-up mentality. I felt like guys came up, they stepped up right away and they got the job done. That’s how you win big baseball games.”

The excitement continues as the 2025 MLB Playoffs are set to kick off with the Wild Card Round on September 30.
