Church Volunteer, 44, Sentenced to Prison for Molesting Son’s 13-Year-Old Friend at Children's Party
A Texas mother has been sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted of molesting her son’s 13-year-old friend on multiple occasions, including at a children’s party.
Natalie Sorrells, 44, a real estate agent and church volunteer from Rockwall County, was found guilty of engaging in sexual contact with the boy since 2023. The case came to light when the teen's mother discovered a series of inappropriate text messages exchanged between Sorrells and her son, as reported by Local 12.

In these messages, Sorrells referred to the boy as “babe.” The victim also informed the police that Sorrells had provided him and his friends with alcohol and tobacco on several occasions, as detailed in the affidavit.
The teen recounted instances of sexual contact with Sorrells, including one incident that occurred in a car after she picked him up from a football game, and another at her own son’s birthday party.
During one of these encounters, the victim reported that Sorrells received a phone call from her husband, questioning whether she was being unfaithful, according to court documents.
After the boy's mother uncovered the text messages, he confided in her about the molestation. Sorrells was arrested in February and subsequently found guilty on two counts of indecency with a child. In addition to her prison sentence, she was ordered to pay a $10,000 fine.

Before her arrest, Sorrells was actively involved as a volunteer at Lakepointe Church in Rockwall. The church community expressed shock at the allegations and took immediate action by removing her from her volunteer position.
“While it is our current understanding that no inappropriate activity occurred on church premises or during any church event, and that the minor involved was not under the direct leadership of the volunteer, we have informed Lakepointe parents out of an abundance of caution,” the church stated to local KDFW. They also restricted Sorrells from any access to minors at the church.
As of now, a representative for Sorrells has not been available for comment regarding the case.
