The Sueños Music Festival is making its grand return to Grant Park this Memorial Day weekend, and trust me, you don’t wanna miss it! With mega stars like Shakira and Don Omar headlining, it’s shaping up to be an unforgettable experience.
So, here’s the scoop: the festival is happening on May 24 and 25, and you can still snag single-day or two-day passes if you haven’t already. Seriously, don’t sleep on this!
This year’s lineup is pretty epic. Shakira will be taking the stage on Saturday, while Don Omar will close out the festival on Sunday. Plus, there’s a special performance from Grupo Frontera on Sunday that’s sure to be a highlight.
But wait, there’s more! Other artists hitting the stage include Arangel, El Alfa, Oscar Maydon, Tito Double P, Jhayco, Wisin, Kapo, Gordo, Maria Becerra, Dei V, and a whole lot more. It’s gonna be a jam-packed weekend of amazing music!
If you’re curious about the full lineup or want to grab your tickets, just click here. And yeah, set times are available too, so you can plan your weekend accordingly.
Now, let’s talk logistics. Street closures are already in effect, so if you’re driving, be aware that Balbo Drive between Columbus Drive and DuSable Lake Shore Drive is closed from now until May 31 for festival setup and take-down. It’s a good idea to plan your route ahead of time.
Honestly, the best way to get to Grant Park is by taking the CTA. The closest stops are the Red Line Jackson, Harrison, or Roosevelt Stations. If you’re more of a Metra person, you can hop on the Metra Electric Line and get off at the Van Buren Street Station. Super easy!
For those biking to the festival, there’s complimentary bike valet available near Buckingham Fountain, open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on both days. So, no worries about where to park your ride!
And if you’re planning to use rideshare services, there are designated pick-up and drop-off spots at 11th Street and Wabash. Just a heads up, when you’re leaving the festival, you’ll need to walk a bit west of State Street or north toward Jackson Drive to get out of the geofenced area for rideshare drivers.
If you’re thinking about driving, the Millennium Garages beneath Grant Park, Maggie Daley Park, and Millennium Park are your best bets for parking. You can even buy parking in advance at special rates for 12 or 24 hours at the Millennium Lakeside Garage or Millennium Park Garage. There’s also a discount for multi-day parking if you use a special code. Check out more info on parking and travel questions here.
Now, let’s get to the nitty-gritty about bags. All bags will be searched at the festival, so keep that in mind. If your bag is larger than 6 in. by 9 in., it needs to be clear and made of plastic, vinyl, or PVC, and can’t exceed 12 in. by 6 in. by 12 in. Small clutch purses and fanny packs under 6 in. by 9 in. don’t have to be clear, but they can only have one pocket.
Basically, bags are restricted to small purses, totes, and drawstring bags only. Hydration packs are cool too, but they must be empty and have more than two pockets. For a full list of rules and what you can or can’t bring, check it out here.
So, gear up for an amazing weekend at the Sueños Music Festival! It’s gonna be a blast, and you definitely don’t want to miss out on all the fun!
