Holland Roden Embraces Bills Mafia After Hallmark Film
Holland Roden has officially joined the ranks of Bills Mafia, thanks to her recent experience filming Hallmark’s Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story.
“I say I, potentially, wasn’t the biggest football fan prior to this movie, but I am absolutely — for life — the biggest Bills fan now,” Roden, 38, expressed during an interview at San Diego Comic Con on July 24. “They converted this theater girl overnight with the kindness that they show.”
The actress, known for her role in Teen Wolf, praised not only the NFL players but also the crew and “the people of Buffalo” for their warm hospitality.
“I joke that it’s like this ongoing election in Buffalo because of the amount of yard signs and murals and memorabilia in restaurants,” she remarked about her time filming in upstate New York. “It is unlike any kind of football fandom I’ve ever seen — and I’m from Dallas, Texas, so we’ve got a big one there [in the Cowboys].”

Roden stars in Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story, set to air as part of Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas lineup this fall. She shares the screen with Matthew Daddario, Tony Danza, Tracy Pollan, Caroline Aaron, and Steve Schirripa.
While specific plot details remain scarce, a brief synopsis reveals that the film revolves around lifelong family friends who are devoted Buffalo Bills fans.
“Pediatric doctor Morgan Quinn (Roden) and the Bills’ VP of Stadium Development Gabe DeLuca (Daddario) have always been close friends, but Gabe has always held a torch for her — a fact obvious to their families (Pollan, Aaron, Schirripa) and everyone else who crosses their path,” the logline states. “When Morgan learns from her Uncle Tommy (Danza) that someone anonymously helped her family get by after he was drafted more than 60 years ago — and that he continues to receive a Christmas gift each year to this day — she decides to find his benefactor and give her uncle a Christmas he’ll always remember.”
The film promises to include spirited nods to the NFL team, featuring cameos from coach Sean McDermott and players Ray Davis, Damar Hamlin, Dion Dawkins, Dawson Knox, Reid Ferguson, DeWayne Carter, and Joshua Palmer. Roden and her co-stars filmed scenes inside the Bills’ Highmark Stadium to ensure authenticity.

“We shot in Buffalo, New York, [and] I don’t think that film could have been replicated anywhere else,” Roden teased. “It’s not something we could have cheated.”
As of now, Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story does not have a specific premiere date.
