Florida woman arrested after accidentally texting sheriff’s dept. instead of drug dealer
On December 31, 41-year-old Octavia Wells sent a text message, intending to purchase fentanyl before leaving town. However, her message landed in the inbox of a vigilant narcotics investigator within the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, unbeknownst to Wells.
Seizing the opportunity, the investigator adeptly engaged Wells in conversation, masquerading as a drug dealer, and arranged a meeting to facilitate the supposed drug transaction. Oblivious to the unfolding events, Wells proceeded to a gas station, anticipating a rendezvous with her perceived dealer.
To her surprise, instead of encountering a drug dealer, Wells was met by a team of investigators from the BCSO Special Investigations Division. The tables had turned, and Wells found herself in a predicament she had not bargained for.
Subsequently, Octavia Wells was apprehended and charged with several offenses, including Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving with a Suspended/Revoked License.
