Pokimane's Podcast Pivot: The Inside Scoop

Twitch sensation Pokimane recently shared insights into why she made the decision to cancel her solo podcast, "Don't Tell Anyone," in favor of teaming up with LilyPichu for a new show.

The solo podcast project was unveiled in November 2023, with Pokimane set to delve into various topics on a weekly basis for several months. However, the venture came to a close in June 2024, paving the way for her collaborative podcast, "Sweet n Sour," with LilyPichu, which debuted in September.

Curiosity among fans regarding the shift in Pokimane's podcasting approach was addressed during her appearance on JSchaltt and Ted Nivison’s Chuckle Sandwich show, where she finally shed light on the reasons behind ending "Don't Tell Anyone."

Reflecting on her solo podcast experience, Pokimane expressed, "I did that for a season, and honestly, at some point, it’s just like ‘I ain’t got more to say. I told all my stories.'" This candid revelation provided clarity on her decision to transition to a new format.

When questioned further about her solo podcast by Ted, Pokimane elaborated on the challenges she faced, stating, "I also stream for hours a day. It’s less about talking to myself, which I can do just fine. It's more about coming up with a worthwhile topic every week and planning out an entire episode. If I just get on the microphone and yap about anything, I could."

She continued, "I tried to do more structured episodes, and for more than an hour, it was like doing a video episode. Very difficult."
