Body of 55-Year-Old Man Found in Garbage Bag Under Bed in Queens
The lifeless body of a 55-year-old man was uncovered under a bed, concealed within a garbage bag, in a northern Queens apartment on Tuesday evening, as reported by police and law enforcement sources.
The distressing find took place at the Kew Gardens Hills apartment building located at 137-17 70th Avenue around 5 p.m. when law enforcement responded to a welfare check request, according to police and sources familiar with the matter.
The man, whose identity remains undisclosed, was found unconscious and non-responsive beneath the bed and was pronounced dead at the scene by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel.
Prior to establishing if any foul play was involved, the city's medical examiner's office must ascertain the cause of the man's demise, as stated by the New York Police Department (NYPD).
Sources indicate that authorities are currently in the process of interviewing two individuals residing in the apartment where the grim discovery was made.
As of now, the man's identity is being withheld until his family has been notified of the tragic incident.
