Woman Admits to Falsely Accusing Innocent Man of Rape Due to His 'Creepy' Looks
A 20-year-old woman, Anjela Borisova Urumova, has admitted to concocting false accusations of kidnapping and rape against an innocent man. The fabricated claims resulted in the wrongful incarceration of the man for over a month. Urumova confessed that she singled out the stranger as her target solely based on her perception of him as 'creepy.'
The Bucks County District Attorney's Office disclosed that Urumova is now confronting legal repercussions after pleading guilty to charges of fabricating a sexual assault incident outside a local supermarket. Initially, Urumova alleged that a 41-year-old man had assaulted her from behind near a Redner's supermarket on April 16. She claimed that the assailant had forcibly pulled down her pants and struck her, causing a bruise on her face.
However, the truth behind Urumova's deceitful narrative unraveled when she admitted to law enforcement that the cut on her lip, which she had when making the false accusations, was actually inflicted by an object thrown at her by her grandmother, who suffers from dementia. This revelation shattered the foundation of her fictitious assault account.
Urumova confessed to authorities that she deliberately chose Daniel Person as her fabricated assailant because she had previously observed him and his blue Ford F-150 pickup truck in the vicinity. Her misguided perception of Person as 'creepy' fueled her decision to falsely implicate him in the non-existent crime, as reported by Law & Crime.
Following Urumova's admission, a thorough investigation was launched by the police into the alleged rape incident. The authorities meticulously scrutinized surveillance footage from various retailers in the area where the purported attack took place. Additionally, a forensic examination of Urumova's cellphone data was conducted by a detective from the Bucks County District Attorney's Office.
The investigative efforts swiftly uncovered numerous inconsistencies and conflicting information within Urumova's fabricated version of events at the Redner's parking lot. Consequently, the man who had been wrongly accused faced severe felony charges and endured a harrowing 31-day period of incarceration before the truth came to light, leading to the withdrawal of all charges against him.
Urumova was formally charged and subsequently pleaded guilty to a series of offenses, including false alarm to an agency of public safety, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, false reports, and unsworn falsification to authorities. The gravity of her actions has placed her in a precarious legal position, with the Bucks County DA's spokesperson revealing that Urumova could potentially face a sentence of up to 17 years in prison during her sentencing scheduled for March 21.
