500-Pound Rapper Suing Lyft For Ride Denial Requests A Couch Instead Of A Chair During an Interview

A 500-pound rapper, Dank Demoss, who is taking legal action against Lyft for allegedly denying her a ride due to her weight, made a noteworthy request during an interview on “The Breakfast Club” radio show. Describing herself as “obese” and a BBW (big beautiful woman), Demoss, also known as Dajua Blanding, arrived at the New York City studio and expressed discomfort when offered a wheeled office chair to sit on before the interview commenced.

Dank Demos appeared on the Breakfast Club. They provided her with a wide chair, but it did not offer comfort for her 600-pound, high-caloried frame. Questioning the seating arrangement, Demoss earnestly asked, “This the only seat y’all got?” In response, host Charlamagne tha God and the crew promptly brought over a couch for the Detroit native. Grateful for the gesture, Demoss, dressed in a one-piece outfit with a front cutout and an orange jacket, expressed her appreciation, stating, “This is what I’m talking about. Good. This is accommodation.”

Demoss gained online attention recently after sharing a video where a Lyft driver, upon seeing her, locked his car doors, refusing her a ride. Despite her assurance that she could fit in the car, the driver, identified as Ibrahim, insisted she couldn’t, leading to the ride's cancellation.

During her discussion on “The Breakfast Club,” Demoss highlighted the challenges she faces due to her weight, emphasizing the importance of accommodating individuals in various situations. When questioned about the necessity of accommodation, she simply responded, “Why not?” adding, “Bigger people should be accommodated just like we accommodate the LGBT community.”

Following the incident, Demoss filed a lawsuit against Lyft. In response, a Lyft spokesperson refrained from commenting on the specific legal matter but reiterated the company's stance against discrimination.

“Lyft unequivocally condemns all forms of discrimination. We believe in a community where everyone is treated with equal respect and mutual kindness,” the spokesperson stated.
