Dr Disrespect Refuses Kick's Offer After CEO Claims Signing Him Would "Harm" the Platform
Popular Twitch streamer Dr Disrespect has made it clear that he would rather retire than consider streaming on Kick after the platform's CEO expressed that signing him would not be beneficial financially.
Back in June, former Twitch employees shed light on Dr Disrespect's ban in 2020, alleging that he had engaged in inappropriate communication with a minor. Dr Disrespect, whose real name is Guy Beahm, acknowledged the allegations but later clarified that the messages were taken out of context and insinuated that Twitch played a role in his ban.
Despite the ban, Dr Disrespect has made a comeback to streaming on YouTube and is currently awaiting updates on his monetization appeal. However, it seems highly unlikely that he will make a move to Kick, as he stated in a tweet on October 15, "I'd retire before considering streaming on Kick. My community is the best in the industry... I wouldn't take it there. There's a reason why they keep dropping my name. Think about it."
On October 12, Kick's CEO and co-founder, Edward Kraven, revealed to Slasher that the platform had no intentions of offering Dr Disrespect a deal. Kraven expressed, "Making a deal with Dr Disrespect, from a financial and business perspective right now, would make zero sense. It would do more harm for Kick and it'd be a waste of money at this point in time is my opinion."

However, he declined the offer, requesting a staggering $50 million instead. Dr Disrespect justified his decision by stating, "Fifty million you get the two-time. If not, I'm not interested in moving. The community is too strong here. We're established. The numbers are just outrageous. We're looking good, we're feeling good. I'm in cruise control driving multiple Lamborghinis. I'm in no rush."
Furthermore, Dr Disrespect cited his involvement in other business ventures, including his gaming studio, Midnight Society, as a reason for rejecting Kick's offer. Despite his departure from the studio, Midnight Society has made it clear that Beahm will not be welcomed back.
While awaiting an update on his YouTube monetization status following his demonetization post the Twitch ban, Dr Disrespect continues to hold the position of the second most-watched US YouTube Gaming star, trailing only behind IShowSpeed.
