Zach Bryan, 28, has recently revealed that he and Barstool Sports personality Brianna LaPaglia, known as Brianna Chickenfry, have decided to part ways after a year of being together.
In an emotional Instagram Story shared on Tuesday, October 22, Bryan expressed, "Addressing something: Brianna and me have broken up with each other [SIC], and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart. She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time, and for that, I'll always thank her."
Opening up about his personal struggles, Bryan added, "I've had an incredibly hard year personally and struggled through some pretty severe things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our separate ways. I am not perfect and never will be."
He also requested his followers to give LaPaglia the privacy and space she needs during this challenging time, stating, "If you have it in your heart, mine too. With everything I am and to anyone I let down, I am sorry. I try my best in everything. I failed people that love me and mostly myself."
Shortly after Bryan's announcement, LaPaglia shared her response to the breakup on social media, saying, "Hey guys, I'm feeling really blindsided right now. Gonna hop off social media for a while and attempt to heal privately. When I'm ready, I'll be back and ready to talk. I love you guys so much, thank you for all of your kind words. Remember you are so loved, and everything's always gonna be OK."
Fans began speculating about the split after LaPaglia posted a cryptic handwritten note on her Instagram Stories the day before, hinting at the challenges of moving on in life.
LaPaglia's message read, "And eventually you'll find that life goes on, even if you don't want it to. The days will pass, and the world will move while you ask it to stop. You'll believe life is cruel for continuing on while your feet are stuck."
Continuing her reflection, she added, "You'll find people and moments to blame for your concrete feet. Then there will come a morning when you wake and realize things go on, life isn't cruel, your feet are. The world keeps on spinning in hopes of showing you that you can as well."
Bryan and LaPaglia went public with their relationship in July 2023, with LaPaglia describing it as a "fun" and "casual" romance during a podcast. Their paths first crossed earlier that year at the ACM Awards and again in June 2023 at one of Bryan's concerts.
During their time together, the couple welcomed a furry companion into their lives, a dog named Boston, after LaPaglia's hometown. Additionally, the "Something in the Orange" singer purchased a house in Duxbury, Massachusetts, earlier this year.
Although Bryan and LaPaglia kept their relationship relatively private, they did share heartfelt Valentine's Day messages with each other this past February.
Expressing his admiration for LaPaglia, Bryan wrote, "You are tough when people are rude, you are honest when it's hard, you are kind when it's easy not to be, you are funny in a world full of cry babies, you are beautiful with no help, you are patient when I'm an idiot, you're empathetic when you shouldn't be. Wish this world saw you in the same lights I get to. I love you and happy Valentine's Day hot dog. Sorry I never got to jump out of that plane in Vegas to ask, but here's to 80 more."
As fans process the news of their breakup, both Bryan and LaPaglia have asked for understanding and respect during this sensitive time as they navigate their separate paths.
