Move over, VTubers! There's a new player in town shaking up the streaming scene. In a surprising turn of events, a 22-year-old Puerto Rican streamer, Alondrissa, has made waves by surpassing the likes of Amouranth in popularity rankings.
The realm of online streaming has been revolutionized by VTubers, those digital avatars that have captured the hearts of audiences on platforms like Twitch and YouTube. Names like Miko, Pekora, and Ironmouse have been at the forefront of this digital revolution in 2024.
However, in the third quarter of 2024, a new star emerged as Aqua soared to the top of the charts. StreamsCharts reported a staggering 735,000 peak viewers during her virtual concert in August. Meanwhile, Japanese VTuber Miko set a personal record with 170,000 peak viewers during her 3D concert.
Breaking away from the VTuber trend, Alondrissa stole the spotlight with over 150,000 peak viewers for a non-VTuber stream. Her music-themed broadcast, featuring rapper Young Miko, captivated audiences and set a new benchmark in the streaming world.
Even Amouranth, known for her sensational streams, faced tough competition when Alondrissa outshone her with a record-breaking 121,000 viewers in July. While Amouranth's stream was not music-related, it still drew thousands of viewers as she delved into the world of Disney trading cards.

The top ten most popular streamers are currently dominated by Japanese VTubers on YouTube. Interestingly, Alondrissa's broadcast garnered more than double the peak views of non-VTubers like Canadian Valorant star Kyedae, Emiru, and Maddison Beer.
As 2024 draws to a close, all eyes are on the streaming world to see if any last-minute contenders will break into the top 10 or if the VTuber reign will continue into 2025 and beyond. Recent results hint at the challenges ahead, with Yuki Sakuna making history on October 27 by attracting a record-breaking 383,139 viewers during her debut stream. Not only did she set a new record for VTuber debuts, but she also secured the third spot for the most-watched VTuber stream overall.
