YouTuber's Shocking Discovery After Buying a $39K House on Amazon
A popular YouTuber, Nathan Graham from the channel Unspeakable, recently embarked on a unique experiment by purchasing a $38,999 ready-made house from Amazon. The goal was to test if the e-commerce giant could truly deliver a fully furnished home setup.
Upon the arrival of the house, which was neatly packaged in an Amazon-branded box, Graham encountered a surprising twist. The 19-by-20-foot Chery Industrial prefabricated expandable house, although equipped with windows and a bathroom, lacked a crucial component - assembly instructions.
As Graham delved into exploring his new abode, he attempted to plug in a small fridge, only to realize a glaring omission - there were no electrical outlets to be found. In his video documenting the experience, which has garnered a whopping 7.5 million views, he humorously expressed his dilemma.
The YouTuber's oversight stemmed from neglecting a vital detail in the product description, which explicitly stated, “Reminder: Mobile Prefab House is not wired. Please hire an electrician for American standard wiring. Stay safe!”
Despite the unexpected hiccup, Graham had foreseen potential challenges and preemptively purchased a generator to power essential appliances like the fridge and a TV. Additionally, he stocked up on furniture, kitchen appliances, games, and food to make the house livable.
Amazon clarified that the property did not include household appliances, furniture, a water source, or drainage and sewer connections, necessitating the buyer to arrange for these essentials independently.
Initially appearing slim and compact in its packaged state, the house transformed into a complete structure with four walls, a roof, and windows once unfolded by Graham and his friends.
This amusing anecdote serves as a reminder that while Amazon offers a vast array of products, meticulous attention to detail, especially in the fine print, is crucial to avoid surprises upon delivery.
Interestingly, this incident echoes a similar experience earlier this year when a TikToker expressed regret over a $24,000 Amazon house purchase due to unexpectedly low ceilings.
