It all started back in June 2024 when the ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl captured the hearts of many on TikTok with her infectious catchphrase and vibrant persona.
Initially shrouded in mystery, Welch later disclosed her true identity as Haliey Welch, a native of Tennessee, and subsequently launched her podcast, Talk Tuah with Haliey Welch.
During an early interview, Welch playfully mentioned her significant other, affectionately referred to as Pookie, whose identity remained a secret until the November 12 episode of her podcast.
To commemorate this revelation, Haliey Welch introduced a groundbreaking AI-powered dating app, named after her beloved, Pookie.

Launched on iOS in November, Pookie Tools caters to individuals navigating the complexities of the dating scene. The app boasts an AI chatbot for initiating conversations and dispensing dating advice, suggestions for date outfits, and tips for sprucing up dating profiles.
When questioned by TechCrunch about her motivation behind creating a dating app, Welch shared, “I was a guest on Bill Maher’s podcast, and he actually planted the seed in my mind. He encouraged me to consider becoming a relationship coach. That’s how the idea came about. This app serves as a seamless avenue for users to discover their perfect match, their forever Pookie.”
Notably, Welch is not the sole influencer to venture into the realm of app development in 2024. Tech luminary Marques Brownlee introduced his personalized wallpaper app, Panels, in September, although the reception has been somewhat polarized.
