Patrick Mahomes’ personal trainer, Bobby Stroupe, didn’t hold back in throwing some playful shade at the Buffalo Bills after they handed the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss in almost a year.
“Buffalo with the 5th consecutive regular season Super Bowl championship,” Stroupe cheekily wrote via X on Sunday, November 17, following the Bills' 30-21 victory over the Chiefs.
Stroupe, the brains behind ATHLETE Performance Enhancement Center, cleverly alluded to the Bills’ consistent regular season success in recent years, contrasting it with their postseason struggles.
While the Bills haven’t made a Super Bowl appearance since 1994, the Chiefs are currently eyeing a historic third consecutive Super Bowl win, aiming to etch their name in NFL history.
Adding a touch of sportsmanship, Stroupe concluded his banter with, “Seriously great game. See y’all down the road. Respect.”
However, not all Bills fans took Stroupe’s jest in good humor. Some were quick to point out that the Chiefs, despite their regular season setback, remain a formidable team, with one fan reminding Stroupe that even Mahomes isn’t invincible.
Another fan quipped, “Those grapes are sour bro. Return them to the store for a refund,” in response to Stroupe’s lighthearted dig.
Realizing the impact of the Bills’ significant win, Stroupe extended an olive branch to Buffalo fans on Monday, November 18, acknowledging their victory and praising Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
“Bills had a great win. Josh was excellent!” Stroupe conveyed via X. “That’s great football and what we should all want. Eyes forward to seeding and finishing regular season.”
Stroupe, who has been mentoring Mahomes since the quarterback was just 9 years old, recently shared insights into their training regimen and the meticulous approach they follow.
“As far as our approach, I call it the cake system because— I’m really corny—but basically there’s eight layers to this,” Stroupe revealed in an interview with People in September. “There’s eight different things that we focus on: movement literacy, force absorption, force transmission, pattern stability, tissue resiliency, mobility, stability, and flexibility.”
He further explained, “When most people are resting the day after the game, we really work. There’s about three to three and a half hours worth of soft tissue work, mobility work, range of motion work, and just general health. Trying to make sure that the 26 bones in your foot, the 640 muscles, the 12 fascial lines, everything’s got to be in working order.”
Looking ahead, the Chiefs are gearing up to face the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, November 24, as they aim to bounce back from their recent defeat and continue their quest for another shot at Super Bowl glory.
So, while the banter between Stroupe and Bills fans adds a touch of spice to the post-game chatter, it also sheds light on the dedication and meticulous training that goes into shaping a top-tier athlete like Patrick Mahomes.
As the NFL season unfolds, the friendly rivalry and camaraderie among fans and professionals alike continue to add excitement and drama to the game we all love.
