Dec 13 2024

Sydney Thomas, famously dubbed the "Viral Ring Girl" following her appearance at the Jake Paul versus Mike Tyson fight last month, is making a grand return to the squared circle.

The 21-year-old Thomas took to Instagram Stories on Thursday, December 12, to share the exciting news of her comeback.

In a selfie, Thomas sported her iconic "ring girl" outfit with the caption, "Back in uniform." Another post showcased her full attire with the caption "weigh ins."

Since her sudden rise to stardom as a ring girl at the highly-watched fight in November, Thomas's career has been on a meteoric trajectory.

Earlier this month, she revealed that she had officially signed with the sports division of Creative Artists Agency (CAA), a powerhouse that represents top athletes like MLB star Shohei Ohtani, NBA star Devin Booker, NHL star Sidney Crosby, and WNBA star Cameron Brink.

Thomas shared the news on December 1 through a TikTok video, describing it as "the craziest week of my life." The video included a snapshot from her meeting with CAA, confirming her official signing.

Aside from her professional success, Thomas has also experienced significant changes in her personal life. The college student recently ended her relationship with her boyfriend, clarifying that the split occurred before her internet fame.

In an interview with YouTube creator Nick Nayersina on December 2, Thomas explained that the breakup was amicable, stating, "[I] had no problems with him at all - he was great. I just broke up with him because I needed and wanted more time for myself."

She expressed the need to "discover who I am" and emphasized the importance of having space to "be alone."

Embracing her newfound fame post the Paul-Tyson fight, Thomas has gracefully handled the increased attention.

Speaking to Us Weekly after the fight, Thomas expressed her gratitude for her growing fan base, stating, "I think what’s next for me is to continue building up my social media and working with [Paul’s] Most Valuable Promotions as a ring girl."

Thomas aims to focus on her career as a ring girl and model, sharing this aspect of her life with her expanding audience.

While Thomas has gained a wave of new supporters, she has also faced critics. In response to those who doubted her abilities, Thomas had a clear message.

In a TikTok video posted in late November, she asserted, "Contrary to popular belief, I actually am smart. People get the image that a pretty blonde doesn’t have a brain. But I got a 33 on my ACT in high school and I’m finishing college a year early. So, take it as you want."
