LeBron James Shares Insight on Son Bronny's Independence

Nov 19 2025

NBA superstar LeBron James addressed the media following the Lakers' 140-126 victory over the Utah Jazz, revealing a personal milestone: his son Bronny has officially moved out. “I think he’s enjoying the process,” LeBron remarked, a hint of humor in his voice as he reflected on Bronny's transition into adulthood.

At 21, Bronny is no longer a resident in the James household, prompting LeBron to note, “We don’t talk as much; he has his own place.” The moment was lighthearted, with LeBron turning to his son off-camera, asking, “Bronny, how are you!?”

Bronny is the eldest of LeBron and Savannah James’ three children, which also include Bryce, 18, and Zhuri, 11. LeBron has been candid about his family dynamics, previously discussing his marriage with Savannah on her podcast. “I know I don’t want to be alone, that’s for damn sure,” he stated, emphasizing his commitment to their relationship. “If I have to fight, crawl, scratch, bite, whatever to keep mine. I got to keep it.”

In another podcast appearance, he acknowledged that their marriage isn’t “picture perfect.” “A relationship is never picture perfect,” he admitted. “But if you’re OK with working through the hardships and the adverse moments, then it will make it all worth it.” Their long-standing relationship has endured challenges over the years.

On the court, Tuesday marked LeBron’s season debut after recovering from sciatica, where he contributed 11 points and 12 assists. This game also marked a significant achievement: his 1,293rd consecutive game scoring in double figures. “It was just fun to be out there with the guys,” he expressed post-game. “It’s been rough mentally for me.”

As LeBron enters his 23rd season, questions arise about his future in the league. A long-held aspiration of his is to share the court with Bronny. “I need to be on the floor with my boy,” he said in 2023. “Either in the same uniform or a matchup against him... I would love to do the whole Ken Griffey Sr. and Jr. thing.”

With Bronny now living independently, the father-son dynamic is evolving, yet LeBron remains focused on their shared goal of playing together in the NBA.
