Major Recall Alert: Johnsonville Cheddar Bratwursts Contaminated with Plastic
Johnsonville is making headlines with a recall of over 22,600 pounds of cheddar bratwurst across multiple states, including Minnesota and Wisconsin. This action comes after the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service reported that the product "may be contaminated with a foreign material, specifically hard plastic."
The recall was initiated following two consumer complaints about finding plastic in the bratwursts. The affected product is labeled as "Johnsonville BRATS CHEDDAR Bratwurst," packaged in a 19-ounce sealed tray containing five bratwursts. Look for the "Est. 1647" mark on the front of the label, along with the package code B9FOD.

These bratwursts were distributed to retail locations in several states, including Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin. While no injuries have been reported, the agency advises anyone who may have been affected to consult a healthcare provider.
