In a high-stakes clash, San Diego FC surged past Minnesota United with a 4-2 victory, ending the latter's five-match unbeaten streak. Anders Dreyer was pivotal, netting a goal in each half, while Milan Iloski contributed two late goals to secure the win for the expansion side.

The match kicked off with an early advantage for Minnesota United (8-4-6), who took the lead in the 8th minute thanks to an own goal from San Diego defender Christopher McVey.

However, San Diego (10-5-3) quickly responded. Just three minutes later, Dreyer unleashed a stunning strike from near midfield, leveling the score at 1-1. This marked his seventh goal of the season, showcasing his impact in his inaugural league campaign.

The second half saw San Diego equalize again, this time through Dreyer, who converted a penalty kick in the 66th minute after a foul on Minnesota defender Anthony Markanich.

Iloski, who entered the match at halftime, then turned the tide in favor of San Diego with a go-ahead goal in the 75th minute. He added another two minutes into stoppage time, marking all four of his goals this season as crucial contributions off the bench. Notably, Dreyer assisted on Iloski's first goal, bringing his assist total to nine this season.

In goal for San Diego, CJ dos Santos made five saves, while Wessel Speel recorded four saves in his league debut for Minnesota United.

This victory propelled San Diego into second place in the Western Conference, sitting three points ahead of both Portland Timbers and Minnesota United, and just two points behind the leading Vancouver Whitecaps.
