Philip Rivers Set to Make Comeback with Colts Against Seahawks

Dec 13 2025

Philip Rivers is back on the field. The former NFL star, now 44, will start for the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, marking his return to the game after a hiatus since the 2021 playoffs.

His younger children, who were too young to remember his playing days, are particularly eager to see him in action. “I think my younger children are excited because they don’t remember dad playing,” Rivers remarked after joining the practice squad on December 10.

The Colts reached out to Rivers following injuries to both Daniel Jones and backup quarterback Riley Leonard. Rivers, who spent the majority of his career with the San Diego Chargers before finishing with the Colts, was drafted in 2004 and has been a prominent figure in the league.

Rivers’ family dynamics have shifted since his retirement; he and his wife, Tiffany, now have ten children. His oldest daughter, Halle, recently became a mother herself, adding another layer of excitement to the family as they prepare to watch him play.
