Prescott and Pickens Forge Strong Connection at Cowboys Minicamp
On the second day of Cowboys minicamp, the atmosphere buzzed with energy as players engaged in drills and team activities.
Micah Parsons donned his helmet, participating in individual drills, though he was absent from team sessions.
Quarterback Dak Prescott took charge during a two-minute drill, completing 6 of 8 passes, culminating in a 22-yard touchdown throw to tight end Jake Ferguson.
Newly acquired wide receiver George Pickens has quickly developed a rapport with Prescott, expressing optimism about their potential. "He's just been controlling everything," Pickens noted. "All the stuff, all the plays are kind of based on him as well. When I get to see how he wants to run his stuff, how Schotty is calling it ... everything is connecting slowly but surely."
Since joining the Cowboys, Pickens has spent considerable time practicing alongside Prescott and fellow receiver CeeDee Lamb, further solidifying their connection.
This emerging Prescott-Pickens partnership has drawn attention since the team traded for Pickens in May. "Having him, 88, Jalen, some of the young guys, myself ... Schoony, you physically cannot cover everybody," Ferguson remarked. "I think it's going to be really hard in the pass game and then also, we can run the ball too."
With two days of minicamp completed, only one remains. Thursday marks the final offseason practice at The Star before the team heads to Oxnard for training camp starting July 25.
