Rome Odunze Highlights Support System Amid Challenging Season
Chicago Bears wide receiver Rome Odunze openly acknowledged the unwavering support of his girlfriend, Alannah Davidson, during a challenging season. “You can see football as a fantasy when you look at it,” he remarked, emphasizing the significance of his close relationships. “My girl, my parents, all my friends, all my brothers — I have very true, respected relationships with all those people.”
Odunze, 23, shared these insights while promoting his collaboration with Invisalign, highlighting how encouragement from loved ones serves as a crucial backbone for him. “I think it’s important for any person, especially any athlete, to have that sort of system,” he added.
Dating since March 2021, when both were students at the University of Washington, Odunze and Davidson have cultivated a strong bond. The Bears currently hold a 4-3 record under first-year head coach Ben Johnson, aiming for their first postseason appearance since 2020.

Among those trusted individuals is Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, selected first overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, just after Odunze was picked ninth. “My relationship with him is good, man,” Odunze stated. “That’s one of my dogs, one of my brothers. We’ve gone through the ebbs and flows of an NFL season and understand the different rollercoaster of emotions that you go through.” Odunze also expressed gratitude for his partnership with Invisalign, which he credits for enhancing his confidence. “The biggest thing is just the confidence it’s brought me, on and off the field, just having a good smile,” he said. “But it’s not just about the smile, either. Paying attention to oral health is a big positive. I’m one of those that’s a success story.” As the Bears prepare to face the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, November 2, Odunze remains focused on both his personal growth and team success.
