With 12.2 seconds remaining in overtime, Sonia Citron sank a pivotal 3-pointer, sealing her season-high 27 points and guiding the Washington Mystics to a 91-88 victory over the Dallas Wings on Sunday.

Citron's performance was remarkable; she shot 9 of 13 from the field, including a career-best four 3-pointers, and secured 11 rebounds. Kiki Iriafen, another rookie standout, contributed significantly with 19 points, seven rebounds, and personal bests of six assists and five steals. Sug Sutton also made her mark with 15 points.

The decisive moment unfolded when Shakira Austin, positioned in the post, found Citron open in the corner for the game-winning shot.

Earlier in the game, rookie Aziaha James scored 11 points and narrowed the Dallas deficit to 83-81 by converting one of two free throws with 17 seconds left. Citron then added to the Mystics' lead by splitting her foul shots before Paige Bueckers tied the game at 84 with a catch-and-shoot 3-pointer off an inbounds pass from James.

Washington initially dominated, leading by as many as 16 points in the first half. However, Dallas responded with a strong third quarter, even taking a 10-point lead early in that period.

Arike Ogunbowale led the Wings with 27 points, while Bueckers added 20 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. Ogunbowale's scoring surge included three 3-pointers, contributing to Dallas' impressive 31-point second quarter that allowed them to enter halftime ahead at 45-40.

The game was marked by physical play, with both teams combining for 60 personal fouls—three of which were technical—and a staggering 73 free-throw attempts. The Mystics converted 28 of their 41 attempts from the line, while the Wings made 26 of 32.

Looking ahead, the Wings will begin a four-game home stand against Atlanta, while the Mystics are set to host Minnesota on Tuesday.
