Suge Knight Encourages Diddy to Testify in Sex-Trafficking Trial
“He really would walk,” Suge Knight asserted, urging Sean “Diddy” Combs to testify at his federal sex-trafficking trial. The former Death Row Records head, currently incarcerated for manslaughter, expressed his belief that Combs could sway jurors in his favor if he chose to share his personal story.
Speaking from the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, Knight emphasized the importance of vulnerability. “If he tells his truth, he really would walk,” he told CNN during a Thursday phone interview. The ongoing trial in Manhattan has drawn significant media attention, with Combs pleading not guilty to serious charges.
Accusations against the 55-year-old music mogul include orchestrating a sex-trafficking and racketeering scheme involving his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Prosecutors allege that Combs manipulated her for over a decade, employing violence and threats to control her actions and subjecting her to drug-fueled sexual encounters.
“If Puffy goes up there and says, ‘Hey … I did all the drugs, I wasn’t in control of my life at the time,’” Knight continued, “he can humanize his old self and the jury might give him a shot.” The notion of Combs remaining silent, according to Knight, suggests fear of facing the consequences. “He should just have his faith in God, put up his pants and go up there and tell his truth,” he added.

While Knight’s comments come amid a high-profile trial, it remains uncertain whether Combs will take the stand. The charges against him are severe, alleging that he used his celebrity status to exploit Ventura and others.
Knight has been mentioned frequently in testimonies related to the case. In a separate interview with Piers Morgan Uncensored, he acknowledged that while Combs engaged in “weird stuff,” it does not equate to guilt regarding the allegations. “He’s guilty for being a cold, freaky man that wants freaky things done to him,” Knight stated.
He further elaborated on the complexities of the case, suggesting that certain aspects of the allegations could be misconstrued. “In the Cassie situation, they could not say he was having sex with the man also, because that’ll make him like [it was an] orgy,” Knight explained. “It won’t be like sex-trafficking.”
Despite his own legal troubles—Knight is serving a 28-year sentence for killing Terry Carter in 2015—he maintains that Combs should not face life imprisonment. “At the end of the day, there’s no way Puffy should go to prison for the rest of his life,” he concluded.

The rivalry between Knight and Combs dates back to the 1990s, rooted in their respective affiliations with iconic rappers Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. Their labels were central to the infamous East-West Coast rap feud that tragically resulted in both artists' deaths within a year of each other.
