Syosset's Loradana Paletta Set for National Team Debut
Loradana Paletta, a rising star from Syosset, is on the brink of a significant milestone in her soccer career. This week, she will debut with the U.S. under-17 national team at the Four Nations Tournament in Mexico City, facing off against teams from Mexico, Costa Rica, and Canada.

“It’s always been a dream when I was little — being on the national team,” Paletta expressed just before heading to training camp. Her aspirations extend beyond this tournament; she aims to secure a spot on the roster for the upcoming U-17 World Cup and ultimately dreams of competing in the senior World Cup.

At just 14 years old, Paletta has already made waves in the soccer community, becoming the first American athlete to sign a deal with the luxury Italian brand Lotto. This achievement has garnered her attention on social media, where she was featured in a promotional video that celebrated her signing.

Despite being the youngest member of her national team and a last-minute addition to the tournament roster, Paletta has been thriving on the U-16 national team for nearly a year, often playing alongside girls who are two years her senior. “I try to stay humble and not really brag about it,” she noted, emphasizing her desire to keep her accomplishments close to her heart.

Her family has played a crucial role in shaping her competitive spirit. “My dad always put me in teams with boys since I was little, even if they were two or three years older than me,” she recalled. This early exposure to tougher competition has fueled her determination to excel.

Paletta’s brothers, Gianluca and Leonardo, have also contributed to her development as an athlete. “They really toughen me up and just make me a better version of myself,” she said, highlighting their support and encouragement. Her younger sister, Luvisa, is already showing signs of following in her footsteps.

In addition to her national team commitments, Paletta is part of NYCFC’s boys U-14 academy squad, mirroring her brother Leonardo’s involvement with the U-18 team. “My family is just my biggest supporters — they all really connect to my story,” she stated.

As she prepares for her debut, Paletta remains focused on maintaining high standards both on and off the field. “I’m going to give it my all and play the best that I can because I don’t want to disappoint anybody,” she affirmed. For Paletta, soccer is not just a sport; it’s a source of joy and passion that drives her forward.
