Soccer enthusiasts in Los Angeles and around the world are gearing up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with ticketing details now officially released.

On Tuesday, FIFA announced that fans will have the opportunity to secure their tickets through a lottery system, with applications opening on Wednesday, September 10. While the specific application process remains undisclosed, interested fans are encouraged to join a mailing list for updates.

"Following the incredible success of the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, excitement is reaching new heights for the FIFA World Cup 26," stated FIFA President Gianni Infantino. "We're looking forward to welcoming the world back to North America, as Canada, Mexico, and the United States host what will be the biggest and greatest sporting event ever. We encourage fans everywhere to get ready to secure their place – these will be the most coveted seats in world sport."

FIFA indicated that ticket sales will occur in phases due to anticipated high demand, with only the initial application date confirmed thus far.

Each phase may feature varying purchasing processes, payment methods, and ticket options.

SoFi Stadium will host eight matches during the tournament, including two group stage games featuring the U.S. Men's National Team. The Americans are set to kick off their campaign at SoFi Stadium on Friday, June 12, 2026.

The specific matchups will be revealed in December during the World Cup Draw, where the U.S. team will learn its Group D opponents and game times.

In total, SoFi Stadium is slated to host five group stage matches, two Round of 32 games, and one Quarterfinal.

For those eager to experience the action live, hospitality packages for most matches through the Round of 32 are already available for purchase, starting at $1,400 per person for group stage games.
