Tom Troupe, Acclaimed Actor from "Mission: Impossible" and "Star Trek," Passes Away at 97

Tom Troupe, a prominent figure in both stage and screen, passed away Sunday morning at the age of 97, as confirmed by his representative.

Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Troupe relocated to New York in 1948 to chase his acting dreams. However, he first served in the Korean War, where he earned a bronze star for his bravery. Following his military service, he made his Broadway debut in 1957 with "The Diary of Anne Frank."

In 1967, Troupe transitioned to Los Angeles, where he amassed an impressive resume featuring over 70 television appearances, often in guest roles.

His notable credits include appearances in iconic series such as "Mission: Impossible," "Star Trek," "The Fugitive," "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.," "The Wild Wild West," and "Cheers."

Beyond television, Troupe co-wrote and starred in the 1968 film "Sofi," adapted from Nikolai Gogol's "Diary of a Madman."

His stage career flourished with performances in productions like "The Lion in Winter," "Fathers Day," and "The Gin Game," where he shared the stage with his late wife, Carole Cook, who passed away in 2023.

Troupe is survived by his son, Christopher Troupe, and daughter-in-law, Becky Coulter.
