Travis Kelce Expresses Frustration During Chiefs' Loss to Eagles
Travis Kelce's frustration was palpable as the Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Philadelphia Eagles, 20-17, on September 14 at Arrowhead Stadium. The loss marked the team's second straight defeat to start the 2025 NFL season.
During the second quarter, cameras captured Kelce expressing his displeasure, exclaiming, “I’m sick of this s***” to teammates just before a commercial break. His visible anger was further emphasized when he reportedly threw his helmet on the sideline, a moment noted by ESPN’s Nate Taylor.
This defeat was particularly stinging for the Chiefs, who were unable to overcome their previous 40-22 loss to the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. Starting the season with two losses is a rare occurrence for Kansas City, marking the first time since 2014 that they have opened with an 0-2 record, coinciding with Kelce's first full season in the league.
Additionally, this game represented a significant milestone for quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who experienced his first three-game losing streak in the NFL. Kelce contributed four receptions for 61 yards during the game, but a critical error in the fourth quarter proved costly.

As the Chiefs were driving and trailing 13-10, Kelce bobbled a pass from Mahomes at the goal line, leading to an interception by Eagles safety Andrew Mukuba. Mukuba returned the interception for 41 yards, setting up a one-yard rushing touchdown by Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, extending Philadelphia's lead to 20-10.
The Chiefs will look to secure their first win of the season against the New York Giants on September 21 during Sunday Night Football. Prior to the game, Kelce spoke with Fox Sports’ Erin Andrews about his recent engagement to pop star Taylor Swift.
“I’m an emotional guy, so there were a few tears here and there,” Kelce shared with Andrews. “But it’s been an exciting ride up to this day; I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her.”
He continued, “She has brought excitement and a joy for life that made me a better man and more comfortable with who I am.”

Kelce and Swift announced their engagement on August 26 after two years of dating. Swift humorously captioned an Instagram post featuring proposal photos, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Although Swift was not seen at the game on Sunday, there were rumors that she entered Arrowhead Stadium under cover of a moving wall.
