Tre Holloman Makes Waves: Former Spartans Guard Transfers to NC State

Apr 13 2025

Tre Holloman, the former guard for Michigan State, is heading to NC State for the next chapter of his basketball journey.

The Wolfpack announced Holloman's commitment on social media, showcasing him in their gear. In a post that resonated with fans, Holloman quoted rapper G Herbo, saying, "When I was the underdog, still I put the bank on me," highlighting his determination and ambition.

During his junior season with the Spartans, Holloman averaged 9.1 points and 3.7 assists per game. He emerged as a leader under coach Tom Izzo, even earning the honor of "kissing the floor" on senior night, a tradition that symbolizes dedication to the program.

That senior night was memorable for more than just the tradition; Holloman made headlines when he confronted a couple of Michigan Wolverines who were blocking seniors from participating in the ritual.

Just a month later, he’s set to don the NC State colors, with his Instagram still promoting a clothing line that benefits from his memorable shove, featuring the slogan "RESPECT TRADITION" on shirts and hoodies.

Last season, Michigan State finished strong with a record of 30-7, ranking No. 7 after a deep run in March Madness. In contrast, NC State struggled, ending the season at 12-19 and placing third to last in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The school recently hired Will Wade as their new coach, following his successful stint at McNeese State, where he led the team to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
