Big Brother’ Star Mickey Lee's Chilling Reflection on Life Just Days Before His Untimely Death at 35

Dec 26 2025

Mickey Lee, known for her appearance on "Big Brother," shared a poignant reflection on life just days before her unexpected passing at the age of 35. During a podcast episode of "Hip Hop United LLC" on December 17, she engaged in a heartfelt discussion about happiness with host Algernon Billups.

When asked how she measures her happiness, Lee initially hesitated but ultimately expressed gratitude: “I wake up and I thank God every day that I’m here. I’m happy when that happens. I have another day. I have clothes on my back, I have food on the table and I have my village.”

Billups echoed her sentiments, stating, “Life itself is what should make you happy. Seeing another sunrise makes me happy. Having the ability to breathe; mobility — those are things that make me happy.” Lee nodded in agreement, her enthusiasm evident as she shared her aspirations for the upcoming year, including launching her own podcast and prioritizing family time and fitness.

Tragically, just days after this uplifting conversation, Lee's family announced her death on Christmas Day through an Instagram statement. They wrote, “She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed on and offscreen.”

The family requested privacy during this difficult time as they cope with their profound loss. Earlier reports indicated that Lee had been hospitalized, with a GoFundMe page revealing she was in “critical but stable condition” following multiple cardiac arrests.

Kori Smith, the organizer of the fundraising effort, described Lee’s recovery journey as “long and challenging” after the sudden health crisis. Despite the circumstances, during her podcast appearance, Lee appeared vibrant and took several photos at the iHeartRadio studio.

Just a day prior to her last podcast, she had also featured on the "You Know I’m Right" podcast, where she discussed her experiences on "Big Brother" and her life in Atlanta.

The team behind "Hip Hop United LLC" expressed their shock at her passing in an Instagram tribute, calling it a “complete shocker.” Lee was a participant in the most recent season of "Big Brother," which aired from July to September, where she was voted out by her peers during her eighth week.

In light of her hospitalization, several former "Big Brother" contestants shared their support on social media. Jimmy Heagerty commented, “Praying for an easy and smooth recovery,” while Rachel Reilly added, “Prayers Mickey 🙏🙏🙏 thinking about you and your family.”
