Cooper Flagg, the highly anticipated No. 1 draft pick, is set to make his debut with the Dallas Mavericks.
At noon on Friday, Flagg will take the stage alongside Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison and head coach Jason Kidd for an introductory press conference.
Following the press conference, Flagg will engage with local youth at a Mavs Academy basketball clinic, partnering with kids from the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Dallas.
Flagg's rise to prominence began during his single season at Duke University, where he became a standout player. He earned the title of consensus college player of the year and made history as only the fourth freshman to receive the prestigious Wooden Award. His impressive stats included an average of 19.2 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, leading Duke to the Final Four.
Standing at 6-foot-8, Flagg dominated in all five major statistical categories for the Blue Devils. His skills were further validated last summer when he showcased his talent at the U.S. Olympic team's training camp.
Joining a Mavericks roster that boasts significant talent, including forward Anthony Davis and guard Kyrie Irving—who has recently signed a new three-year contract—Flagg is expected to make an immediate impact.
He will don the number 32 jersey for the Mavericks as he embarks on his professional career.
