Davis Schneider's Father Captures Son's Historic World Series Homer

Oct 30 2025

In a thrilling moment for the Toronto Blue Jays, Davis Schneider launched a home run on the very first pitch of Game 5 against the Los Angeles Dodgers, sending the ball soaring into the left field stands.

Steve Schneider, capturing the excitement from his seat at Dodger Stadium, recorded his reaction using Meta glasses. His astonishment was palpable as he exclaimed, “Oh! Oh no! No way!” in a video shared on social media shortly after the event. “You gotta be kidding me!” he added, encapsulating the joy of the moment.

“No description required… 😄,” he captioned the post, reflecting the sheer thrill of witnessing his son’s achievement.

This marked a significant milestone for 26-year-old Davis, who celebrated his first career postseason home run and RBI during just his third season in Major League Baseball.

“I mean, his Meta glasses are a little bit — they’re kind of dumb, I don’t know why he wears those all the time,” Davis remarked to reporters post-game. “But those are the glasses that he was wearing. It’s great to have my family out here and get to experience the World Series. It’s the first time being here. We’re from a small town in New Jersey, and they deserve it just as much as me and couldn’t be more grateful for them to be here.”

Davis’ mother, Elena, also present at the game, expressed her disbelief at her son’s participation in such a prestigious event. “I’ve always watched the World Series; this is my first go-round with being here,” she shared with local media before the game. “Did I ever think this would happen? Not really. I knew Davis would make it to the majors, but I just never let myself go that far. This is just amazing.”

The significance of the home run was amplified for Steve and Elena, who had attended Davis’ Major League debut at Fenway Park earlier in 2023. During that game, he homered in his first at-bat, but their obstructed view left them yearning for a clearer experience.

“This was much better,” Steve told MLB.com, clearly moved by the moment. “This was unbelievable.”

Despite their excitement, the Schneiders had little time to revel in Davis’ achievement; just two pitches later, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit another home run, extending Toronto’s lead to 2-0.

The Blue Jays ultimately triumphed with a score of 6-1, taking a 3-2 lead in the World Series and inching closer to their first championship in over three decades.

“We all feel so much graciousness for the Toronto Blue Jays fans,” Steve expressed. “They deserve a World Series. They’ve been so good to Davis and our family. We’ve met so many people.”

“We can’t be any happier for the people of Toronto and Canada… if the fans of Toronto can get another World Series,” he added. “We grew up Phillies fans. But Joe Carter — we love him now.”

World Series Game 6 is set for Friday, October 31 at 8 p.m. ET in Toronto.
