Eagles’ Eli Ricks Can't Stop Raving About Ivanka Trump After White House Visit
Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Eli Ricks found himself starstruck after a recent visit to the White House, where he had a chance encounter with Ivanka Trump.
On April 28, the Super Bowl champion Eagles gathered at the White House for a celebratory event, but it seems Ricks, 23, had his mind elsewhere. Instead of reflecting on the team's achievements, he took to social media to express his admiration for Ivanka.
“Donald Trump’s daughter is beautiful, damn,” Ricks tweeted shortly after the event. Just four minutes later, he followed up with another post, stating, “After seeing her in person, Ivanka is exactly my type.”
Ricks, who joined the Eagles as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 NFL Draft, played in seven games last season, although he didn’t make it to the playoffs. His comments about Ivanka Trump sparked a flurry of reactions online, with many followers expressing disbelief. One user quipped, “Okay, there’s no way this is real,” while another humorously suggested, “She don’t like bench players, bro. Find your way into a starting lineup first.”

In addition to his tweets, Ricks shared a couple of photos from inside the White House, including one where he posed in front of a mural depicting his father-in-law, Donald Trump, during a moment from July 2024.
The Eagles were honored by President Trump, 78, during a ceremony held on the South Lawn, which was attended by most of the Eagles roster, head coach Nick Sirianni, and owner Howie Roseman. During the event, Trump praised the Eagles, calling them “an incredible team, an incredible group,” and took a playful jab at pop star Taylor Swift, whose boyfriend, Travis Kelce, plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, the team the Eagles defeated in Super Bowl LIX on February 9.
“I watched in person,” Trump remarked, referring to the Super Bowl. “I was there along with Taylor Swift. How did that work out? How did that one work out?” This comment came after Swift was met with loud boos when her image appeared on the big screen during the Super Bowl.
During the ceremony, Trump also singled out Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, who had faced criticism for golfing with the president just a day before the White House visit. Barkley responded to the backlash on social media, saying, “Lol some people are really upset ‘cause I played golf and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT. Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long ago… and look forward to finishing my round with Trump!”

He added, “Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have an amazing day 😂.”
Not all Eagles players attended the event, as quarterback Jalen Hurts, wide receiver AJ Brown, and defensive tackle Jalen Carter were notably absent. A White House official attributed their absence to “scheduling conflicts.”
As the Eagles bask in their Super Bowl glory, Eli Ricks’ unexpected admiration for Ivanka Trump adds a light-hearted twist to the team's visit to the White House, showcasing the intersection of sports and celebrity culture in today’s world.
