Erin Andrews Responds to Critics of Fox NFL Broadcast and Tom Brady

Sep 07 2025

Erin Andrews, a prominent figure in sports broadcasting, acknowledges the challenges of meeting audience expectations. “Everyone at home will say, ‘Oh, her voice sucks. That report was stupid,’” she remarked during a recent conversation while promoting her collaboration with Glade® Pumpkin Debate. “How could you know? I’ll repeat exactly what a head coach tells me at halftime. And they’re like, ‘Really, Erin?’”

As the NFL season kicks off on September 7, Andrews will join Fox’s elite crew, which includes Kevin Burkhardt, Tom Brady, and Tom Rinaldi. The spotlight brings not only excitement but also scrutiny.

“People just think they can do better,” Andrews noted, reflecting on the inevitable criticism that comes with her role.

This season marks Tom Brady’s second year in his broadcasting career after signing a lucrative 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox. Andrews shared insights into Brady’s adjustment to the role, stating, “He walked into our broadcast booth, never having done it before. I was so proud of him because he didn’t need to do this. He didn’t need the fame, he didn’t need the money, he didn’t need any of it. But he loves the game that much. He wanted to be a part of this. I thought he got better and he got better fast. I thought his improvement was amazing.”

With a year of experience under his belt, Andrews expressed enthusiasm for what viewers can expect this season. “If you throw yourself out there, people are able to put their opinions online,” she explained. “It’s like, ‘OK, you go do it. You try to do this.’”

As football season arrives, so do seasonal favorites like candles and pumpkin-flavored products. However, according to the Glade® Pumpkin Debate survey, many Americans lean towards classic scents like cinnamon or apple during autumn.

The study revealed that 45% of Americans prefer apple cinnamon scents over pumpkin spice, while only 28% favor pumpkin spice. “I do agree with the survey results,” Andrews stated. “Cinnamon, apple and then pumpkin. I feel like cinnamon is such a big choice. It’s fall, but then it gets you ready for the Christmas vibe. I get why that’s a popular choice.”

Interestingly, while nearly half of Americans (49%) consider pumpkin spice a beloved fall tradition, about one-third (29%) find it overhyped. Among those who dislike pumpkin spice products, 64% still use fall scents at home, and 56% continue to purchase fall-scented items.

Andrews humorously commented on the cultural perception of pumpkin enthusiasts: “I think that people look at people who are super into pumpkin a certain way is hysterical. This is where we are. It’s hilarious.”
