Couple Found Dead in Home Had Been Living with Parents' Bodies for Months

A New Year's Eve wellness check in Puyallup, Washington, led to a harrowing discovery that shook the community to its core. Inside a home, authorities found not only the bodies of a couple but also uncovered a grim secret - the couple had been living with the bodies of the man's parents for months.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department was called to the residence for a wellness check after concerns were raised about the welfare of the occupants. What they stumbled upon was beyond anyone's worst nightmare.

William Vosler, 68, and his wife Eileen Vosler, 66, had not been seen by neighbors since the middle of summer, a disappearance that raised red flags in the close-knit neighborhood. William, known for his frequent tinkering with cars in the driveway, suddenly vanished from the community's daily landscape.

Upon entering the home, deputies made a chilling discovery. The lifeless bodies of Shane Vosler, 33, and his girlfriend Sue Bin Lee, 34, were found inside. Lee was tragically found dead on a bed upstairs, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Shane, on the other hand, was discovered in the master bathroom, also with a gunshot wound to the head.

The investigation took a darker turn when officers executed a search warrant on the property and uncovered two more bodies. These bodies were later identified as Shane's parents, William and Eileen. The most disturbing detail emerged when authorities found two notes attached to a large refrigerator or freezer in the garage, indicating the exact date and time of death for each parent.

According to reports, one note read, "Time of Death July 24th 5:45 AM," while the other note stated, "Time of death July 24th 3:00 PM." The dates aligned with the duration the elderly Voslers had been deceased, painting a macabre picture of the family's hidden reality.

The medical examiner's office confirmed that both William and Eileen Vosler had met a tragic end due to homicide. William succumbed to a stab wound to the chest and severe blunt head trauma, while Eileen's cause of death was attributed to multiple stab wounds to the chest and neck.

Speaking to authorities, Deputy Carly Cappetto revealed that Shane was the primary suspect in his parents' deaths. However, the circumstances surrounding Lee's involvement remained unclear. What shocked investigators even more was the revelation that the couple had been cohabiting with the deceased Voslers for six months before the gruesome truth came to light.

Further details emerged from a search warrant, indicating that Lee had posted about contemplating suicide with Shane in November. Subsequent welfare checks were conducted in December following the concerning post, but authorities were unable to intervene as nothing seemed amiss from the exterior of the property.

Despite multiple attempts to assess the situation, including visits triggered by neighbors witnessing unusual events like a vehicle repossession, law enforcement was legally bound to respect the occupants' privacy unless concrete evidence of distress was evident.

It wasn't until the final wellness check on December 31, where one of William's sons took matters into his own hands, climbing onto the roof and gaining access through a window. Inside, a horrific scene awaited him, with Lee's lifeless body drenched in blood.

The investigation pointed towards a possible "collaborative suicide" between Shane and Lee, although uncertainties lingered due to the discrepancy in the time of their deaths. As for the motive behind the elder Voslers' tragic demise, authorities remained baffled, with no clear leads to pursue further.
