Streamer itsKatchii Apologizes After Twitch Ban For Throwing Elon Musk Salute
Twitch streamer itsKatchii recently found herself in hot water after being banned from the platform following a controversial gesture made during a live stream with friends from OTK. The incident occurred on February 4, as itsKatchii and her friends gathered to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
During the stream, itsKatchii made an offensive salute that quickly drew criticism and backlash from viewers across the internet. Recognizing her mistake, itsKatchii issued a public apology the following day, expressing regret for her actions and acknowledging the need for greater responsibility as a public figure.

In her apology, itsKatchii admitted that the incident was a result of poor judgment, stating, “Now that I’m a public figure, I should be more responsible for what I say and do. This is all so new to me, and being constantly scrutinized online is challenging. I made an insensitive and foolish mistake, and I deeply regret it.”
Just two days after the controversial gesture, itsKatchii faced the consequences of her actions as Twitch imposed a ban on her account. Responding to the ban, itsKatchii expressed remorse and a commitment to self-improvement, vowing to refrain from alcohol consumption and take time to reflect on her behavior.

Addressing her audience, itsKatchii stated, “I realize the gravity of my actions and the impact they can have. I am taking this ban as an opportunity to reflect, learn, and ensure that I conduct myself more thoughtfully in the future. To those whom I have offended or let down, I offer my sincerest apologies. I look forward to returning in 7 days.”
Visitors attempting to access itsKatchii’s Twitch channel are greeted with a message indicating that the channel is temporarily unavailable due to a violation of Twitch’s Community Guidelines or Terms of Service.

According to Twitch’s Community Guidelines, the offensive gesture made by itsKatchii likely fell under the platform’s regulations against Hateful Conduct. The guidelines explicitly prohibit behavior driven by hatred, prejudice, or intolerance, including actions that promote discrimination, denigration, harassment, or violence.
The incident involving itsKatchii comes in the wake of similar controversies within the streaming community. Earlier, OTK co-founder Asmongold faced a Twitch ban for making “racist” remarks concerning the people of Palestine, underscoring the platform’s commitment to upholding standards of conduct and inclusivity.
Deserved. That was completely unacceptable and insensitive. It’s not funny, it’s not a joke, and it shouldn’t be normalized.

I also realized I cannot handle alcohol in the slightest - I’m quitting. Taking this time to reflect and be more mindful of my actions and the impact… https://t.co/SpGVgTjLTU
As itsKatchii navigates the repercussions of her actions and endeavors to make amends, the incident serves as a reminder of the responsibilities that come with online visibility and the importance of fostering a respectful and inclusive digital environment.
