Mother-of-Two Faces 80 Counts of Child Statutory Rape
A shocking incident has unfolded in Shallotte, North Carolina, where Sara Jean Sellers, a 44-year-old married mother-of-two, has been arrested on a staggering 80 counts of child statutory rape and indecent liberties. The charges include 20 counts each of statutory rape of a child under 15, statutory sex offense with a child under 15, and indecent liberties with a child, as confirmed by the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office.

Additionally, Sellers faces 10 counts of statutory sex offense with a child by an adult and 10 counts of statutory rape of a child by an adult. Her bond has been set at a substantial $2 million, reflecting the severity of the allegations against her.
While the exact number of victims involved has not been disclosed by investigators, during a recent court hearing, it was revealed that two of the alleged victims were 12-year-old boys. Detectives are actively interviewing two other boys who may have also fallen prey to Sellers' alleged offenses.

The distressing incidents are reported to have taken place between 2018 and 2019, shedding light on a prolonged period of potential abuse that has come to the forefront with Sellers' arrest.
Despite being married for 22 years and having two daughters, Sellers now finds herself at the center of a deeply troubling legal case. Defense attorneys, as reported by WWAY, have indicated that Sellers has a family and a long-standing marriage.

The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office has urged anyone with information regarding the case or individuals who believe they may have been victims to step forward. This call for cooperation underscores the importance of community involvement in such sensitive matters to ensure that justice is served and all victims receive the necessary support.
