Paul Simon Cancels Philadelphia Shows Due to Back Pain

Jun 28 2025

Paul Simon has announced the cancellation of two performances in Philadelphia this weekend, citing severe back pain as the reason. The news was shared via his social media channels.

“Paul has been struggling with chronic and intense back pain,” the statement revealed. “Today it became unmanageable and demands immediate attention.”

The scheduled shows for Friday and Saturday will not be rescheduled, and ticket holders are advised to contact their local ticket provider for refunds.

Simon's team expressed optimism regarding his recovery, stating, “After this minor surgical procedure, which has been scheduled in the next few days, Paul will be able to complete the tour and may return to make up these dates.”

Just prior to the cancellations, Simon performed in Philadelphia, continuing his nationwide "A Quiet Celebration" tour. The next scheduled performance is set for Long Beach, California, on July 7, as noted in an Instagram update.

As fans await further updates, the focus remains on Simon's health and recovery process.
