Blue state city council reconsiders trans member’s nomination after uncovering OnlyFans account
The Lynnwood City Council in Washington state is gearing up for a special meeting just days after appointing Jessica Roberts, a councilor who identifies as a "bisexual transwoman." The council's decision to reconsider her appointment comes after it was revealed that Roberts operates an OnlyFans account, a subscription-based platform known for hosting explicit content.
According to reports from MyNorthwest.com, Roberts was initially chosen to fill a vacant seat on the council. However, the situation took a twist when council members began receiving feedback from residents who recognized Roberts from her OnlyFans profile. This prompted the council to schedule a meeting to discuss the implications of her online presence.

Although Roberts has since taken down her OnlyFans account, its bio reportedly identified her as a "bisexual transwoman" and included explicit details about her body. This revelation has raised questions among council members and constituents alike regarding the appropriateness of her online activities in relation to her public role.
City Councilor Derica Escamilla expressed her concerns in an email, stating, "I have calls into the city clerk and executive assistant with similar questions, as well as questions regarding the ‘blind’ appointment process." Escamilla's inquiry reflects a growing unease among council members about the implications of Roberts' online persona.

Another council member, Patrick Decker, voiced his surprise at the situation, admitting he was unaware of Roberts' online activities. He expressed his belief that her views and actions may not align with the seriousness expected of someone in a public office. "I don't feel the views and activities are in keeping with the gravity and seriousness of serving the public as a city council member," Decker stated.
As the council navigates this controversy, Lynnwood officials have remained tight-lipped, not responding to requests for comments regarding the matter. The council had previously announced Roberts' appointment in a Facebook post, highlighting that she would take her Oath of Office during the upcoming Work Session Meeting on March 17, 2025.

However, the council's upcoming meeting on Thursday at 7 p.m. will be crucial in determining Roberts' future as a council member. The agenda indicates that council members will evaluate her qualifications for the elected position and may consider rescinding her appointment based on the evaluation.
