Katy Perry is under investigation by Australian police over a “historical sexual assault”
Australian police have initiated an investigation into Katy Perry following allegations of sexual assault made by Ruby Rose, dating back to 2010.
Ruby Rose took to social media over the weekend, detailing her accusations against Perry. In a series of posts on Threads, she claimed that Perry “rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face” at the Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne.
Perry has firmly rejected these allegations. Despite her denial, Rose proceeded to file a report with law enforcement, prompting the authorities to take action. Victoria Police confirmed the investigation, stating, “detectives are investigating a historical sexual assault that occurred in Melbourne in 2010,” specifying that it took place at a “licensed premises in the Central Business District.”
In a recent update, Rose indicated that she is now restricted from discussing the case publicly. She stated, “Last update on this: As of this afternoon, I have finalized all of my reports. This means I am no longer able to comment, repost, or talk publicly about any of those cases, or the individuals involved.”
Rose's initial post described a disturbing encounter with Perry, claiming that the singer approached her while she was trying to avoid interaction. She recounted, “she saw me ‘resting’ on my best friend’s lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her.”
In response to these serious allegations, Perry's representatives issued a statement asserting that “the allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies.”
Perry's team further noted that “Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”
Following Rose's claims, an interview from 2014 featuring Anna Kendrick has resurfaced, where she humorously recounted an incident involving Perry at the Grammy Awards.
