Lynx Dominate Sky 91-68, Maintain Perfect Home Record

In a commanding performance, Kayla McBride and Napheesa Collier each netted 19 points, leading the Minnesota Lynx to a 91-68 victory against the Chicago Sky on Tuesday night. This win marks the Lynx's impressive 13-0 record at home this season.

After trailing 24-18 at the end of the first quarter, the Lynx surged ahead, outscoring the Sky 29-14 in the second quarter to take a 47-38 lead into halftime. The third quarter saw Minnesota extend their advantage with a 23-12 scoring run, setting the stage for a comfortable 70-50 lead heading into the final period.

Bridget Carlton contributed significantly with 11 points for the Lynx (21-4), while Alanna Smith and Courtney Williams each added 10 points. However, the game took a turn when backup point guard Natisha Hiedeman suffered an ankle injury during the third quarter and was sidelined for the remainder of the match.

Kia Nurse stepped up for the Sky (7-16), scoring 16 points in place of the injured Ariel Atkins. Angel Reese recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, despite struggling with nine turnovers, while Kamilla Cardoso also contributed with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lynx showcased their offensive prowess by scoring on 11 consecutive possessions to close out the first half. Notably, Collier, who had recently delivered a stellar 36-point MVP performance at the All-Star game, was held scoreless in the first quarter and managed only eight points overall, while McBride led at halftime with 12 points.

Capitalizing on Chicago's mistakes, Minnesota scored 10 points off seven turnovers in the second quarter alone, finishing with a total of 20 points from 23 turnovers committed by the Sky—this being the highest number of turnovers forced by the Lynx this season. Additionally, Minnesota's defense was formidable, recording eight blocked shots, four of which were credited to Collier.

As the second half commenced, Smith opened with a three-pointer that pushed the lead to 50-38, followed by another from McBride, further solidifying the Lynx's dominance as they pulled away from their opponents.
