Mahomes Celebrates Chiefs' Victory with Swift Soundtrack

Patrick Mahomes embraced a celebratory vibe following the Kansas City Chiefs' commanding 31-0 victory against the Las Vegas Raiders on October 19. The quarterback took to Instagram, sharing a video of his second-quarter touchdown pass to Rashee Rice, set to the tune of Taylor Swift's "Opalite" from her latest album, *The Life of a Showgirl*.

In a playful nod to the moment, Mahomes captioned the post with a clock emoji, while his wife, Brittany, chimed in with an enthusiastic comment: “YASSSS 🔥🔥🔥.”

Swift, who was present at Arrowhead Stadium, opted for a low-key presence in a suite alongside her father, Scott Swift. After the game, she and her fiancé, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, celebrated at 1587 Prime, the steakhouse co-owned by Kelce and Mahomes.

On the field, Mahomes showcased his skills, completing 26 of 35 passes for 282 yards and three touchdowns. Notably, two of those touchdowns were caught by Rice, who made his season debut after serving a six-game suspension related to a high-speed car crash earlier this year.

Kelce contributed significantly as well, recording three catches for 54 yards, including a notable 44-yard reception in the first quarter. This victory marked the Chiefs' second consecutive win, bringing their season record to 4-3 and placing them just behind the Denver Broncos in the AFC West standings.

Post-game, Mahomes credited Rice's return as pivotal for the team's success. “He gets so much attention because he is such a special football player,” Mahomes remarked during an interview on the field. “Whenever you get the football to him, he makes stuff happen. It was good to get him back out here and get the offense rolling.”

Mahomes expressed optimism about the team's trajectory: “We’re running at a high level; all we can do is continue to get better. We’re gonna keep working and see where we can get to.”

Rice himself reflected on his return, emphasizing the importance of scoring the game's first touchdown. “You don’t really know how much you love something until it’s gone — or possibly could be gone,” he shared with reporters. “Just being able to be out here with my brothers, that’s the most love I’ve had in a long time.”

Kelce echoed Rice's sentiments about the impact of his return on the team’s dynamics. “I think it’s just a glimpse of what you’re going to see from here on out,” he stated confidently. “As long as we keep playing unselfish and getting excited for each other, the sky’s the limit for this group.”

The Chiefs are set to face off against the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football on October 27.
