Jul 03 2025

Natalie Nakase, head coach of the Golden State Valkyries, has been recognized as the WNBA Coach of the Month for June, marking a significant achievement in her inaugural season at the helm.

Under her leadership, the expansion team recorded a commendable 7-4 record, highlighted by impressive victories, including a notable win against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever during their first home game in the Bay Area.

The Valkyries showcased their dominance with three wins by 24 points or more, notably defeating both the Las Vegas Aces and Seattle Storm by margins of 27 points.

Statistically, June was a strong month for the Valkyries, who averaged 82.1 points, 47.5 rebounds, and 18.7 assists per game while limiting opponents to an average of 75.1 points.

Recently concluding a five-game homestand at Chase Center, the arena—affectionately dubbed "Ballhalla" by fans—has seen sold-out crowds for every game this season.

Following their latest victory against the Storm, the Valkyries are set to hit the road, with their next matchup scheduled for Saturday against the Minnesota Lynx in Minneapolis.

This game will be available for viewing on KPIX in the Bay Area and KMAX 31 in Sacramento, with tipoff slated for 5 p.m. Pacific Time.
