Netflix Greenlights Season 3 of America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders
Get ready to cheer, as Netflix has officially announced the renewal of America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders for a third season. The announcement came on August 18, confirming that fans will have more behind-the-scenes access to the iconic cheerleading squad.
Director and executive producer Greg Whiteley expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The world of DCC is an embarrassment of riches when it comes to stories to be told. I’m grateful our crew has another season to keep telling them.” This sentiment reflects the show's ability to capture the unique experiences of both rookie candidates and seasoned cheerleaders.

However, viewers will need to wait until 2026 to witness the events from the 2025-2026 auditions and training camp. Some familiar faces are expected to return, including season 2 rookie Charly Barby, who teased her teammates in a recent Instagram promo. “Roll call! Who’s all here?” she asked, showcasing fellow rookies Abby Summers, Ariel Brumfield, and Kelly Villares.
Charly, dressed in her full Cowboys uniform, excitedly confirmed the return of the series, flipping the camera to reveal the film crew. “Yep, season 3 is back! Let’s go!” she exclaimed, generating buzz among fans eager for more content.

The official announcement on social media read, “Officially present and seated for AMERICA’S SWEETHEARTS: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders season 3!!! coming 2026 💖💃.” Alongside the cheerleaders, DCC senior director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell will reprise their roles in guiding the new squad.
America’s Sweethearts debuted in 2024, chronicling the journey of rookie candidates and returning cheerleaders as they aimed to secure spots on the 2023-2024 team. Season 1 favorites included Reece Weaver, who made the squad, and her friends Charly and Kelly V., who faced setbacks during training camp.

In season 2, which premiered in June, both Charly and Kelly achieved their dreams of cheering for “America’s Team” in Texas. This season also sparked discussions about the financial aspects of being a DCC. Many cheerleaders maintain full-time jobs outside of their roles, while senior members like Jada Mclean advocated for better compensation.
During the season finale, it was revealed that the DCC would receive a “400 percent” salary increase for the upcoming season. Jada shared insights about this change, stating, “I can’t go into too much detail, but I will say there’s an increase all around when it comes to hourly and appearance fees and just everything as a whole. It’s a very great change and I think the girls are gonna benefit a lot from it moving forward.”

The announcement of season 3 coincides with the Netflix release of America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys, a series focused on Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and his journey with one of the most prominent NFL franchises. Both seasons of America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are currently available for streaming on Netflix, with America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys set to premiere on August 19.
