Piers Morgan's Photo Mishap While Wishing Trump Well
Piers Morgan's Friday morning post on X aimed to extend good wishes to President Donald Trump ahead of his summit with Vladimir Putin, but the execution faltered dramatically.
In his message, Morgan described Trump as someone who “genuinely prefers peace to war.” However, the accompanying image, crafted by X user @PaulleyTicks, depicted Trump waving from Air Force One while humorously adorned with oversized red kneepads.
Realizing the faux pas, Morgan quickly deleted the post. He later clarified that he had initially overlooked the comical alteration. Subsequently, he shared his original sentiment again, this time with a different image sourced from Fox News’ X account.
The White House has yet to respond to inquiries regarding the incident.
Trump's meeting with Putin is set at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska. This marks the first face-to-face encounter between a U.S. president and the Russian leader since the onset of the Ukraine conflict in February 2022.
During his flight to Alaska, Trump reiterated his commitment to resolving the Russia-Ukraine War swiftly, claiming he could achieve peace within 24 hours of taking office if re-elected in 2024. He expressed dissatisfaction with the prospect of Putin continuing military actions against Ukraine.

In an interview aboard Air Force One with Fox News, Trump stated, “We’re going for a meeting with President Putin in Alaska. And I think it’s going to work out very well, and if it doesn’t, I’m going to head back home real fast.”
Upon arrival, Trump greeted Putin with a military flyover and a red carpet welcome, sharing a ride in The Beast, his presidential limousine. Notably, he applauded Putin as the Russian leader approached him, despite the latter being wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was notably absent from these discussions.
