Shaquille O’Neal Predicts Short-Lived Romance for Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson
NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal shared his unfiltered perspective on the new romance between rapper Megan Thee Stallion and basketball player Klay Thompson. During an episode of “The Big Podcast with Shaq” on July 21, O’Neal was asked about the couple's potential longevity.
“Six weeks,” O’Neal stated bluntly, setting a clear timeline for the relationship. When cohost Adam Lefkoe inquired whether he believed they would last until fall, O’Neal responded with a disapproving shake of his head.
“Six weeks,” he reiterated, emphasizing his prediction. Meanwhile, podcast guest Mike Tyson appeared perplexed by the discussion, asking, “Who’s Klay Thompson, though?”
Lefkoe quickly clarified that Thompson is regarded as “one of the greatest shooters of all-time.” Tyson, taken aback, opted out of offering any opinion on the couple, stating, “I’m not gonna say nothin’.”
Megan and Klay made their first public appearance together at the Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York City on July 16. The foundation, established in 2022, aims to support women, children, seniors, and underserved communities in Houston and beyond, named in honor of Megan’s late parents.
At the gala, Thompson expressed admiration for Megan’s philanthropic efforts. “Megan is such a special person and she inspires so many around the world,” he told Us Weekly. “This is just another incredible feat of hers to be able to give back, create a foundation, and raise a ton of money for those in need. And I’m honored to be here by her side.”
Thompson also reflected on his desire to meet Megan’s parents, saying, “I know both of them would be so proud of their only daughter because of what she’s been able to accomplish.” He praised her ability to inspire others and her commitment to philanthropy.
Megan echoed Thompson’s sentiments about her parents’ approval of her new relationship. “I feel like my mom would’ve been like, ‘Wow, you finally picked a nice man!’” she remarked. “We kissed a lot of frogs, but now we got a real prince! I feel like they would be very proud. My dad would be very happy.”
